Follow these guidelines for your safety and to get the best results from your microblading treatment:
BEFORE
+ Carry out a patch test sent to you and read through the pre-treatment document to discover any contraindications there may be.
+ Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24hrs before the treatment.
+ Do not take Ibuprofen, Aspirin, fish oil supplements, Coumadin (warfarin) and Vitamin E for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment unless medically advised. Paracetamol is fine.
+ Not on acne medication Accutane for at least one year.
+ Smoking will cause the pigment to prematurely fade.
+ Do not have fake tan/sunburn on your face/brows on the day.
+ Please keep growing your brows as much as you can before your appointment.
+ Wear comfortable clothing. Layer up, unfortunately due to my strict hygiene protocol I can’t have any soft furnishings (so I can’t wrap you in a soft blanket like when you have your lashes done)
+ Avoid waxing, threading, tweezing and tinting your eyebrows 7 days prior to procedure.
+ It’s helpful to screenshot a few desired eyebrow styles on your phone, so we can discuss during the consultation.
+ Wash your hair the day of your appointment. It might be a good few days before you can again!
DURING
+ Be prepared to lie very still for a period of time. I play relaxing music to offer a tranquil, calm environment.
+ Apply numbing cream (if used)
+ Choose a pigment suited to your skin tone
+ Discuss style, shape, length and thickness of your desired brows.
+ Brow mapping to achieve symmetry, this will be my template to work from. I will show you this to make sure you are happy with the work before we proceed with the treatment.
+ Microblade your brows, 30-40mins
+ Payment and say our goodbyes until your top up or yearly touch up.
AFTER
Here’s the information you NEED to know for your eyebrows to have longevity.
+ Do NOT get them wet for 7 days or until the scabs start to fall naturally.
+ Some itching is normal. Do NOT pick, peel or scratch, it will pull out the pigment.
+ Do NOT expose the healing skin to extreme heat, cold or moisture for two weeks following your treatment. This can include exercise, sunbathing, sun beds, makeup, water, jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, swimming, direct shower spray, hot water, skin creams or ointments other than what you have been instructed to use.
+ Avoid sleeping on your face for 2 weeks
+ Do NOT apply petroleum type ointments to the area for 2 weeks after the treatment. But advised to use when swimming after 14 days to help protect the colour and stop chlorine/salt water from entering.
+ Look after yourself. Healthy food heals and nourishes the skin for faster heeling.
+ Always wash your hands before touching your brows and keep your hair away to prevent infection.
RESULTS
There are many factors that can affect the results of your microblading treatment. The main factor is the aftercare. The better you look after your microblading the longer they will last. Our skin changes as we age so eventually microblading will look more powered. This happens with all SPMU procedures. The hair strokes will appear crisps and bold at first, but will soften in appearance as the tissue heals. The area will shed, taking some colour. This is normal. The brow will start to darken over the first few weeks. Then it's common to have some areas fade more than other. This is all part of the healing process. Please see the guide below.
Skin type is a factor that can affect the result. If you have oily skin, your results will look after and more powered instead of crisp. If you have dark skin, please be aware your SPMU will not appear as bold as lighter skin tones. Red heads, blondes and fair skin types may experience more fading than darker skin types.
The main thing to be aware of after the treatment is the healing process. If you know what to expect you can plan ahead and get the best out of your new brows.
PLEASE NOTE
If you have had your brows microbladed before or laser removal because of the scar tissue it can take 1-3 treatments (or more depending) to achieve your desired result. This is because the scar tissue that has formed in the brow area will need additional procedures. Unfortunately there is only so much I can do and if you have had previous work or had a bad experience elsewhere - I can only do the best I can, and cannot guarantee you will get the same results as my clients who have a clear base to begin with.
